The Core

Overview

Our student ministry exists to help students live out the Gospel in their daily lives. Life is all about Jesus. He is THE CORE of our existence! Our goal is to connect middle school and high school students (7th-12th Grade) with Jesus as well as to each other as His followers in the local church. We teach our students to love Jesus, to love serving, and to love people. We are an active student ministry, committed to the Acts 1:8 model of reaching our community, our nation, and the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Throughout the year, we offer a variety of events, programs and trips that will allow us to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community and country.

Sunday

We invite you to join us for Life Group @ 9:15 AM on Sunday mornings. The entire Youth Group meets downstairs in the Youth Room for prayer and announcements. Then we break out into smaller classes for Bible studies for the teen boys and teen girls.

On Sunday evenings we regularly meet for games, food and Bible study at one of the Youth Leaders houses. Sometime we will take a trip to go play sports or other fun activities. This is a great time to invite friends since the atmosphere is more casual. Check the Church calendar for specifics on location, times and other details.

Wednesday

On Wednesday evening we again meet in the Youth Room for a Mid-Week Bible Study. Typically, we begin with snacks/fellowship and then we will come together for a time of worship followed by a group activity/game and a challenging message from Pastor Neal. Our Wednesday night ministry begins at 6:30 PM alongside the various other age specific children’s and adult programs of WCHBC.

Events

In addition to the above weekly ministry opportunities, we host a yearly Valentines Banquet, set up a bi-annual rummage sale, offer a Fall Retreat and plan for Summer Missions Trips.
