Awana is a global, nonprofit ministry committed to the belief that the greatest impact for Christ starts with kids who know, love and serve Him. We at West Colonial Hills Baptist Church are glad to provide this ministry for children 3 years old through 4th grade on Wednesday nights from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
How does Awana fulfill its mission? Through God’s guidance and power, Awana strives to reach kids for Christ through fun, Scripture-rich experiences that lead them to know, love and serve Him. Awana has a strong emphasis on scripture memorization with particular emphasis on individual students putting God’s Word into their hearts. In addition, Awana provides instruction on biblical truths and structured athletic game times in an encouraging environment.
Awana also equips ministry leaders and parents to reach and disciple kids who impact their generation with the gospel. We hope to see this ministry continue to touch lives in Colonial Heights, Kingsport, and the Tri-Cities area with the love and truth that are found in Jesus.
